A general clerk in Malaysia earns around RM18 per hour [1]. If they spend just two hours a day on email triage, that‘s RM9,360 lost every year. If your operations manager handles this for three to four hours daily, you’re looking at RM18,720 to RM24,960 annually. Just for routing emails.
A survey of Kuala Lumpur office workers found that 41.1% say excessive manual work is their biggest barrier to productivity [2]. While your best people are occupied with email triage, they are not finding new customers or solving meaningful problems.
2. Manual Data Entry Between Systems ⌨
Someone copies information from an email, a form, or a PDF invoice and types it into your CRM, then into your accounting tool, then into a spreadsheet. Over and over again.
Research shows manual data entry costs businesses an average of $28,500 per employee every year [3]. That‘s roughly RM134,000. Employees spend more than nine hours a week just moving data between systems that don’t communicate with each other.

- Pick one task. The one that frustrates your team the most. The one where you think, “If I never had to think about this again, I‘d be relieved.”
- Document every step. Who touches it. How long it takes. Where errors happen.
- Find the repetitive parts. Most processes are 80% repetition and 20% judgment. Automate the repetition and keep the judgment.
- Fix that one thing. Then measure the difference, in terms of the time saved, errors eliminated, stress reduced.
- Then do it again.
